Pendlebery Bet doesn’t have the biggest profile of the new online bookmakers, but it is Australian owned and operated, headed by Sydney bookmaker Jeff Pendlebury.
Despite having no betting on sports, they have strong markets on their racing markets, with a key focus on Australian horse racing given the experience Pendlebury has in that area.
Why Are Pendlebery Bet Popular?
Their is a 100% focus on racing. If you aren’t a sports betting fan, and want to bet purely on racing, then Pendlebury Bet is the place to go, with markets on all Australian markets covered by the TAB, along with key international meetins on a daily basis, so it’s a good platform for racing fans.
They provide a SP guarantee on fixed odds bets. Certain races see punters take a fixed odds price but if the Starting Price is longer, then punters will be paid out on the Starting Price, which is an enticing positive compared to some of their newer wagering operator rivals.
Some of these new bookies pretty much have zero idea how to bookmake, but that is not the case with Pendlebury Bet. Pendlebury has been a trusted bookmaker for over 50 years and is one of the more respected and trusted bookmakers in the Sydney betting landscape.
Why We Like Pendlebery Bet
The way they do focus on the racing is pretty good. Some new bookies promise to deliver a strong product for racing punters but fail to deliver. Pendlebury Bet know what their lane is and are happy to stay in it with the racing, offering up good prices compared to their rivals.
They have a good social media presence across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Social media is an important part of promoting a new business, espeically the way the world is today, and Pendlebury Bet are prolific in terms of their posts, which is a positive given some just have it there and aren’t active.
They open prices on races not far off jump time instead of 24 hours+ prior. That’s a throwback to the good old days and it ensures the betting is very competitive with low percentages keeping the betting market nice and strong.
Why We Don’t Like Pendlebery Bet
First and foremost, the website. When you go on and have a quick look, it feels like you’ve gone into a time machine and gone back 10-15 years. The markets and the way they are displayed is pretty much like an old TV in the betting ring which displays the prices and the flucs. It’s so out dated and needs to get with the modern times.
It’s all well and good having racing markets, but they don’t cover all the race meetings that the TAB covers, which is the bare minimum that new bookies should cover. The fact they shut up shop for the betting day at a certain time is very poor and any real growth in terms of becoming a bigger bookie won’t happen if it stays the same.
The customer service is pretty average. The only ways to contact is via a message link on the website or email, with a note saying that please allow up to 24 hours for a response. Granted they aren’t a big bookie and early on in their betting life, but up to a day to respond just simply isn’t good enough.
6 Reasons To Bet With Pendlebery Bet
1. Good Fixed Odd Prices
Their racing markets are very competitive relative to their rivals, offering up solid prices and top of the market in certain instances, which is pretty impressive for a new bookie that is just starting up online. Big tick.
2. Deposit Options
Some bookies are very limited when it comes to depositing options, but Pendlebury Bet aren’t that, offering five options to deposit. Compare that with some of the new rivals, they only offer, some maybe two. Punters like to have options and Pendlebury Bet provides that.
3. SPG On Every Australian Race
They need a point of difference and what that is for Pendlebury Bet is the Starting Price Guarantee, which ensures punters will get the best price on every Australian race, whether it be the Fixed Odds taken at the time of the bet, or the starting price. Whatever price is higher, that is what punters will be paid out.
4. Trusted Bookmaker
Jeff Pendlebury has been a trusted bookmaker since 1968 and he knows what he is doing when it comes to betting and putting up prices, which can’t be said about some of these new bookies, who set up a website and just copy/paste odds from the big boys like TAB and Sportsbet.
5. Simple Website
Whilst the website needs an upgrade in terms of quality of the layout, it’s a very simple website in terms of placing bets, with placing a bet just being a click or two away from being placed with absolute ease, making it very time efficient.
6. Easy Sign Up/Verification
Some betting agencies make it very tricky to sign up and verify the account, but thankfully with Pendblebury Bet, it’s a very simple process and doesn’t take up time. You need to verify the account within 72 hours of opening it up, but the process ensures it only takes a few minutes.
