GetSetBet is a new online bookie in the Australian betting landscape that was created from the team behind Swopstakes, which was quite innovative several years ago. GetSetBet is a format more towards the normal with new pop up bookies but it’s solid and stacks up pretty well against their rivals.
They launched late in 2021, and is one of many that are using the BetMakers technology, joining the likes of BetDeluxe, SwiftBet, TexBet and many others. If you’re familiar with those online wagering operators, that’s pretty much what you’re going to get with GetSetBet.
Why Are GetSetBet Popular?
GetSetBet is Australian owned and they have a maximum payout of $200,000, which is excellent and a massive tick compared to some of the newer wagering operators. They also have the past the post payout, so potential winnings go straight into your account, whereas some don’t do that.
Given they do use the BetMakers technology, the markets aren’t vast compared to the big boys of Sportsbet, Ladbrokes etc, but they do provide markets on a wide number of sports, including the main sports in Australia, AFL and NRL. They also have markets on Australian and International racing, including meetings that the TAB don’t provide markets on, so if you want to find something right out wide, GetSetBet is the place for you.
A big tick for them is customer service. They have email and live chat, with live chat just one click away on the website, and the response time is quick, which is very helpful, especially if you’re a punter that’s on the go and betting in most races/sports, wanting a quick reply.
Why We Like GetSetBet
They have GetSetBet TV, which provides live streaming of certain races. It doesn’t show all the Australian meetings like say Sportsbet and Ladbrokes do, but they do have live streaming on certain international meetings, which is a big tick when you want to bet and watch on the same platform/site/app.
One thing that can be annoying is verifying the account. It can take time, but it’s a simple process with GetSetBet, and the other big positive is the deposit/withdrawal processes. Both are very simple to use and it’s quick, especially with the Withdrawal. Depending on the time you withdraw, it’ll be received the same day. Compare that to some other betting agencies, which can take 24-48 hours.
The promotions they have are similar to most of the new bookies, with bonus back offers on selected races and sporting events across a variety of betting options. The markets they provide on sports are a bit on the thin side compared to Sportsbet, TAB and some of the other big boys, but that is the way it is with those using BetMakers.
Why We Don’t Like GetSetBet
The knock with the website is that there is no Frequently Asked Questions/About Us. If you’re betting with a new operator, you’d like to know more about what they are about and what they offer. There is none of that there on the site, and I think they would gain more punters if they did have that.
They do have an app and it’s similar in terms of the colours/layout that is seen on the website. Given it’s relatively new in being up and running, it can be improved in terms of the speed of the app, but no doubt that with time and more work put in, that will be improved.
Live betting is an important form of betting, and GetSetBet don’t have that as of yet. That would vastly improve their business if they could get that up and running. They also don’t provide live streamning of sports, which seems a bit disappointing given they do have live streaming of certain international race meetings.
6 Reasons To Bet With GetSetBet
1. Next Race Ticker
There are faults with the BetMakers technology, but one of the best features of it is the next to race ticker, which GetSetBet has. It’s clear, distinct and you can choose what you want to see coming up across all three codes and both Australian racing along with racing from overseas.
2. $200,000 Max Payout
Some of these new online bookies don’t offer too much when it comes to a maximum payout, so for GetSetBet to offer $200,000 as a max payout is a big tick comparing to these new online pop up bookmakers. They are willing to take a bet and offer a very good payout.
3. Past The Post Payout
When you win a race, some bookies wait until the result is official before paying out. With GetSetBet, they will pay out instantly. Punters love to receive winning funds into their account straight away so they can keep betting, so GetSetBet get a definite pass mark in this instance.
4. Customer Service
The response time is very good re customer service. Whilst they don’t have a phone number, the live chat option usually sees a response from GetSetBet near instantly. Some other betting agencies can take much longer and don’t really offer much help, which isn’t the case with GetSetBet.
5. Cash Out
This feature is generally saved for the big bookies like TAB, Ladbrokes and Sportsbet, but GetSetBet has the cash out option, which is popular among punters who are unsure whether to let a multi ride or cash out. The option is there though, and that is a fantastic asset to have.
6. Deposit Options
Some bookies are very limited when it comes to options to deposit. That is not the case with GetSetBet, who have a wide range of options to use. They have several options as well for withdrawals, so it’s ideal that a new bookie doesn’t pigeon hole a punter as to how they can deposit/withdrawl funds.
