If you want an Australian owned and operated bookmaker to bet with, then one to try out is BudgetBet, a WA based website that is family run and is trying to do something different away from other new betting websites.

Down below is a comprehensive review of BudgetBet as in why they are popular, why they are well liked and what they can improve on.

Why Are BudgetBet Popular

They cover all meetings that the TAB covers, whether it be from Australia or overseas, so if you want to bet away from the TAB, then something similar available is BudgetBet, that have been in business since the height of Covid and have Fixed Odds markets available for all races.

Line betting for sports is very popular but with new betting websites, they cuddle the prices and offer as low as $1.80. BudgetBet have $1.90 lines available for most sports, including the main ones like NRL and AFL. Not quite at the level of $2 lines like someone like Ladbrokes has available, but $1.90 is still very competitive.

Most bookies have odds boosts available for punters and that is the case with BudgetBet, which has it available for both racing and sports, whether it be a single bet or a multi bet, so they get a tick in that regard given there are some new bookies that don’t have an odds boost.

Why We Like BudgetBet

Their promotions side of things is pretty good compared to their new rivals. They offer daily promos for both racing and sport, and trying to entice new punters with more obscure promotions, not just your stock standard. Some of these new bookies don’t offer a great deal re promotions and with the betting landscape today, promotions are king, so BudgetBet get a tick.

For new punters, the website is a very simple and easy one to use. What you want is on the left hand side of the website, just a click away, with the font/layout being clear and easy to see for people of all ages, plus with the colours, it’s a good layout to use.

The markets they have available and prices are competitive compared to their new rivals. A quick example of this was a runner at Gatton, where most betting agencies had $3.80 available for it, with BudgetBet, it was at $4, a clear market leader, so the odds they have are pretty good.

Why We Don’t Like Budgetbet

Where do we begin here…let’s start with the markets for the racing. The odds are good, but it’s only Fixed Odds available, and only win and place. No exotic betting, no Quaddies, no same race multis, nothing. In terms of new websites, this is as poor as I’ve seen and surely they are in the process of offering more options for punters.

The sporting markets are very poor as a whole, but to use a key example, at the time of writing this, January 2023, there was no futures markets available for any of the sports they offer markets on, namely AFL and NRL. Plus with their round betting, there is only head to head betting and line betting, which is really poor.

Their customer service horrible. They only have email as a form of customer service, and they say on the website it can take up to 24 hours for them to respond. Given the low level of quality of their service, as a whole, it’s no shock that the customer service is where it is in terms of quality.

6 Reasons To Bet With BudgetBet

1. Promotions

The promotions side of things are very good for a new bookie. Daily promotions are the most important thing when it comes to a new bookie and some are quite thin when it comes to promotions, but with BudgetBet, they have promotions on a daily basis for both racing and sports.

2. Line Betting

Whilst they could very much expand the markets they have available on sports, they do have $1.90 lines, which in terms of new betting websites, is very good, compared to some who are quite thin and disappointing in putting up a decent price for line betting.

3. Easy Verification

With some betting websites, it can be quite frustrating trying to sign up and verify your account but thankfully with BudgetBet, the process only takes minutes and it’s a simple one. No jumping through hoops, just a simple way of doing and before you know it, you’re up and running.

4. Good Website

The graphics make it seem like the website was from 2002, but it’s a simple and easy website to use. Everything you are looking for is on the left hand side of the home page, whether it be racing of sport, along with queries regarding BudgetBet and what they are about, what is on offer and so on.

5. Detailed FAQ Section

Being a new bookmaker, detailing what they are about and what they are offering is important. Some new betting websites are quite poor in that regard but with BudgetBet, there are a stack of questions/answers available for punters to read with detailed analysis of what is available when betting with them.

6. Experienced Bookmakers

Kevin Wear has been a bookmaker in WA for over two decades so there is proper experience when it comes to wagering, unlike some new betting websites who set up their business but have no idea bookmaking and how to bet. With the experience behind BudgetBet, that won’t be the case.
