Tournament betting has become more and more popular in Australia in recent years and one of the best websites for that is SportChamps, which has been in business for several years and is well established.
Down below is a comprehensive review of SportChamps as in why they are popular, why they are well liked and what they can improve on.
Why Are SportChamps Popular
SportChamps is all about tournaments. They don’t offer any regular cash betting markets for sports or racing. Tournament-style fantasy betting is a fun way to bet against other punters instead of the bookies and a great way to limit your losses so it’s one of the more fun ways to enjoy a race meeting or a sporting event.
The entry fees for tournaments range from beginners to professional tournament punters. Tournaments range from free up to $100 entry. With that, it means that the prizemoney and prize pools aren’t yet attractive enough for professional punters, but if you’re just starting out then SportChamps is perfect for you to learn the ropes and build a balance.
The big tick for tournament fantasy betting is having a good time without spending too much. For example, you could spend $50 on a weekend tournament and it runs over the two days. You could be in the hunt on the final day and while you may not win, you won’t lose too much with only $50 spent, which is a good way to do things if you don’t want to spend big.
Why We Like SportChamps
There are over 200 tournaments per week for punters to have a crack at, covering both racing and sport. It would be disappointing if they didn’t have too many tournaments to choose from, but the fact that there is over 200 on a weekly basis is very good and makes it the best tournament website by far in Australia.
Their customer service side of things is pretty good. They have email, phone and live chat all available for punters with any questions and queries regarding the website. Some betting websites are limited when it comes to what they provide re customer service but thankfully SportChamps are pretty good in this area, and the response time is fast.
The verification side of things is easy to do for new sign ups. It can be a long and sometimes frustrating process trying to verify a betting account, but with SportChamps, it only takes moments and you are off and running, ready to fire away in the tournaments.
Why We Don’t Like SportChamps
The lack of withdrawal options is disappointing. Whilst the Withdrawal times are pretty good, the fact that there is only one option to withdraw, Bank Transfer, is disappointing. They aren’t a major bookie, but still, only having one option is pretty poor. Surely they could add more, along with their deposit options, which are also limited.
If you have been inactive on your account for a period of time, they will charge you account fees. In 2023, that is staggering given the vast majority of betting websites don’t do that. SportChamps can be quite addictive at times with the amount of tournaments, but the fact that if you are inactive you will be charged fees is quite disappointing.
The website is very good, but unfortunately the app is something that seriously needs to be worked on. There are several issues with the app, with bugs, lagging time and continual crashing making it quite a frustrating app to use. It’s much easier to use the website.
6 Reasons To Bet With SportChamps
1. Daily Racing/Sport Tournaments
If you prefer to be via fantasy/tournaments, then SportChamps is the site for you. They offer the best tournaments in Australia by far, whether you are a novice and new to the caper, or experienced and know what you are doing.
2. “Trash Talk”
Trash Talk is the SportChamps forum where users can banter with each other across the tournaments they are contesting and it’s a brilliant read, with a couple of sharp one liners in there. It makes the experience more enjoyable.
3. Easy Verification
With some betting websites, it can be quite frustrating trying to sign up and verify your account but thankfully with SportChamps, the process only takes minutes and it’s a simple one. No jumping through hoops, just a simple way of doing and before you know it, you’re up and running.
4. Good Website
A good website is key for any betting company, including tournament/fantasy, and while the app needs tinkering, the website is very good. Easy to use, simple and the navigation is a very simple process.
5. Australian Owned
With some of these websites, they are overseas owned and don’t really get what Australian punters and users want, but thankfully SportChamps is Australian owned and they know how to cater for Australian customers, making it very appealing and enticing.
6. Experienced Bookmakers
Alan Eskander is one of the more prominent and experienced bookmakers in the industry and he is the man behind SportChamps, so putting your money there should be done with a fair amount of trust and confidence.
