Bookmaker has been in business as an online bookie for a little while but just under a decade ago, it was purchased by Entain and ever since, the site has improved.
They put up ultra competitive odds compared to their rivals and with a stack of racing products for punters, it’s a website that will entice new customers.
Why Are Bookmaker Popular?
Given Bookmaker are under the Entain banner, they have a wide range of markets across both racing and sports, just about leading the way when it comes to betting websites, especially with some of the big boys like Sportsbet and Bet365. Given they are similar to Ladbrokes and Neds, they had to offer up something different and they do with special racing/sports markets.
Like Ladbrokes and Neds, they have an ATM card, the Bookmaker.com.au Card. Some betting agencies take 24-48 hours to process a withdrawal but with the Betstar Card, you can withdraw your winnings straight to that card and withdraw instantly. Punters love to pick up winnings straight away and this is the case with the Bookmaker.com.au Card.
The racing section of the website is outstanding. They show fixed odds flucs on all races, along with form for all runners and comments from experts on the race overall. Some websites just show the runners and odds, with no form, nothing really, so all of that is rather appealing for punters.
Why We Like Bookmaker
The range of bet types they have is very good. The favourite vs the field option is a popular one, especially if you fancy taking on the favourite. They also have same game multis along with same race multis, with the former being one of the more popular betting options for punters, especially with sports such as the NRL and AFL.
They have past the post payout for punters on all races. Instead of waiting for the result to be official, they pay out on the result as soon as the runners cross the line, which is appealing for punters that want to have their winnings straight away and not have to wait several minutes for the result to be finalised.
Bookmaker also has protest payout, which is a big tick. They’ll pay out on both the runner that greets the judge first along with the runner that wins the race via the stewards room. Most bookies don’t have this product, which is a negative for them, but a great positive for Bookmaker and a reason why punters bet with them.
Why We Don’t Like Bookmaker
They are a bit limited in terms of promotions. Ladbrokes and Neds have a decent amount of promotions so it seems a bit odd that a website under the same company doesn’t have similar promotions. Relative to those sites, the promotions is quite poor and something that needs to be improved.
The customer side of things is pretty good, but it’s disappointing that they don’t have live chat. That form of customer service is usually the easiest and fastest way for punters so the fact they don’t have it, again, is susprising given Ladbrokes and Neds both have live chat. That should be introduced to the site.
The odds and the products are very good. But it’s indentical to Ladbrokes and Neds. Those odds, comments etc are just copy/pasted to Bookmaker. There is nothing new with Bookmaker and no real standout compared to those two sites, so offering up somethijng different would be good.
6 Reasons To Bet With Bookmaker
1. Bookmaker Card
Only a select handful of onling bookies have the ATM card where you can instantly withdraw winnings and Bookmaker is in that handful, with their Bookmaker Card allowing punters to collect winnings instantly and use it as a debit/eftpos card.
2. Slick App
The app is one of the better betting apps going around. it’s slick and easy to use, with no real lagging and whatever it is you are looking for, it’s just a tap away and given the layout, you could argue that the app is better than the website.
3. Past The Post Payout
Some bookies wait until correct weight/all clear to pay out on winning bets, but Bookmaker payout as soon as they cross the finishing line, allowing punters to get that winnings almost instantly instead of waiting a few minutes for the result to be official.
4. Protest Payout
On selected meetings, Bookmaker offer Protest payout, where they will pay on the runner that finishes first as they cross the line along with the runner that wins the race bia protest, which is a great tool that entices punters.
5. Live Betting
Massive tick for Bookmaker is being able to bet live. The majority of online bookmakers don’t provide live betting, and especially during the Summer months, namely with Cricket and the Big Bash, live betting is massive for punters and Bookmaker get a big tick for having it as an option.
6. Payment Options
It’s good to have a wide range of options when it comes to depositing and Bookmaker have plenty. There are ten options for depositing for those wanting to bet with Bookmaker, to go with four withdrawal options, with waiting time being pretty good relative to other websites.
